  • Communication ~ Clarity ~ Accuracy ~ Efficiency & Timeliness, these are the tenets of cost effective project design, and the foundation of W.J. McKeever Civil Engineering's continued success. Our firm has been serving clients within the Land Development industry, providing  professional planning, engineering, surveying, and environmental services needed for our communities to advance & grow, dependably and responsibly.

    Land Planning :

Land-use planning is the process of regulating the use of land by a central authority. Usually, this is done in an effort to promote more desirable social and environmental outcomes as well as a more efficient use of resources. In urban planning, land use planning seeks to order and regulate land use in an efficient and ethical way, thus preventing land use conflicts, it is the systematic assessment of land and water potential, alternatives for land use, and economic and social conditions in order to select and adopt the best land use options. Often one element of a comprehensive plan,  a land use plan provides a vision for the future possibilities of development in neighborhoods, districts, cities, or any defined planning area. The American Planning Association states that the goal of land use planning is to further the welfare of people and their communities by creating convenient, equitable, healthful, efficient, and attractive environments for present and future generations.

    Environmental Engineering :

The principles of engineering, soil science, biology, and chemistry are the focus of Environmental Engineers, working to  detect problems & develop solutions to environmental issues.

Our Engineers understand considerations from working to improve recycling, waste disposal, public health, and water and air pollution control. Environmental engineering is the implementation of these scientific and engineering principles to improve and maintain the environment. These concepts used will be different with each individual challenge to solve, depending on the problem encountered.

    Hydrology / Hydraulic Engineering :

A sub-discipline of civil engineering Hydrology or Hydraulic  Engineering refers to the movement of water, the direction of flow, the velocity, rate of precipitation & surface run-off,   and transference of fluids, principally water and sewage from one point to another. Fundamentally, it's the study of extensive use of gravity as the operative force to cause the movement of the fluids. This area of civil engineering is intimately related to the design of bridges, dams, channels, canals, and levees, and to both sanitary and environmental engineering.

Hydraulic engineers are concerned with the implementation of the principles of water movement, to problem solve in dealing with the environmental challenges associated with collection, storage, control, transport, regulation, measurement, and use of water.

    Subdivision Engineering :

Subdivision - We provides a full range of services in land development for subdivisions as well as commercial & industrial development. We have the professional staff to complete both large-scale subdivision projects as well as smaller scale development projects. Our Engineering staff has long-standing experience in all facets of  land development, design and planning for subdivision Engineering and Environmental consulting services.

    Sewer System Design :

Most sewer systems are designed to take advantage of gravity flow. Therefore, their design depends heavily on topography, with sewer lines sloping downward toward a wastewater treatment plant at a lower elevation, channeling water appropriately.

Sanitary sewer design is also based on projected flow—the amount of wastewater that will move through the system based on population, industrial and commercial contributions, and inflow and infiltration.

    Water Systems Engineering :

Water Systems Engineering ensure the safe delivery of water for irrigation and human consumption, as well as the effective removal or recycling of wastewater. Water systems engineers not only design these systems; they also oversee their construction and maintenance.

    Surveying :

Surveying or land surveying is the technique, profession, art, and science of locating & determining easement lines and encroachments. Often times topography is also involved to map proper locations. These points determine land boundaries for ownership of properties, &  are often used to establish maps & , locations, such as the designed positions of structural components for construction or the surface location of subsurface features, or other purposes required by government or civil law, such as property sales.

    Assessment Engineering :

The engineering assessment process is a process of taking a design concept, analyzing the development in consideration of all engineering principles,   & taking that project from concept through the intricacies of implementation. Within Assessment Engineering, skilled engineers will lay out the scope of the project, create order to the project to produce a framework.  The assessment will help to facilitate informed decision making based on the engineering principles associated with each individual project, maintaining both the statistical and interpretive integrity and stability of the project.

    Construction Management :

Construction management is a professional service that uses specialized, project management techniques to oversee the planning, design, and construction of a project, from its beginning to its end. The purpose of Construction management is to control a project's timeline &  delivery of a project, cost and quality. Professional construction managers are able to maximize resource efficiencies, properly control planning, understanding design & design constraints, and follow proper estimates for budget parameters while offering effective communication in all aspects of the project through mechanisms for resolving any issues that may arise through standards set for the management team, and effective communication for the client. Construction Management may be reserved for lengthy, large-scale, high budget undertakings such as real estate projects like subdivisions, industry building, & transportation infrastructure .
